The Sunday Reset Routine: 3 Simple Habits to Prep for a Healthy Week
By Alex Kofsky Diamond, NASM-CPT, CNC
Looking to start your week with more energy, less stress, and a plan that actually supports your health goals?
That’s where a Sunday reset routine comes in. Whether your goal is to stay consistent with workouts, eat more nourishing meals, or just feel less overwhelmed, the way you spend your Sunday can make all the difference.
Here are the three wellness habits I do every Sunday to reset my mind, body, and schedule — so I can set up a healthier, calmer, and more focused week.
1. Schedule Workouts for the Week (and Add Them to Your Calendar)
One of the easiest ways to stay consistent with fitness is to treat workouts like appointments. Every Sunday, I choose the days, times, and types of workouts I’ll do throughout the week — and I put them on my calendar.
This eliminates decision fatigue and helps me stay accountable, even when life gets busy. I don’t wake up wondering, Should I work out today? I already know.
Sunday Workout Planning Tips:
Choose a mix of strength, mobility, and rest days
Block off time in your calendar like any other meeting
Be realistic — something is always better than nothing
2. Plan Healthy Dinners and Grocery Essentials
Meal planning doesn’t have to be intense or overwhelming. My Sunday reset includes choosing simple, balanced dinners for each night of the week and making sure I have all the ingredients.
This prevents last-minute takeout, helps me stay on track with how I want to feel (energized and satisfied), and saves time during the week.
Healthy Week Meal Prep Tips:
Keep a list of go-to meals for quick planning
Check your fridge and pantry before grocery shopping
Plan around your busiest nights for easier execut
3. Do a Brain Dump to Prioritize the Week Ahead
A Sunday braindump is my secret weapon for reducing stress and improving focus.
I jot down every to-do, errand, reminder, and thought floating around in my head — and then sort through what actually needs to happen this week. This clears mental clutter and helps me move into Monday feeling grounded and prepared.
Why It Works:
You stop carrying mental weight into the week
You can spot what to delegate or delay
You’ll feel more in control of your time and energy
Why a Sunday Reset Routine Matters for Women’s Wellness
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being intentional.
A healthy week doesn’t happen by accident — it’s something you prepare for. These three Sunday wellness habits help me stay aligned with my goals, minimize stress, and create the space I need to feel my best.
Even if you only do one of these steps, it can make a major difference in how your week flows.
